Boo sent me on a scavenger hunt to find my present, very creative! It turns out we’re doing this on Monday!!!

OMG, I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!!! Who do you know that’s actually done one of those before?! It seems kind of 80s but it also seems really radical so that’s cool with me.

We went on 2 ½ hikes yesterday. The weather was pretty gloomy; it was rainy and overcast the entire day.

I took this photo to show a size comparison. That is Greg all the way at the bottom.

The first trail we did was called Weeping Rock. It was pretty short but ended with a good view.

We drove through the tunnel and hiked the Canyon Overlook Trail which may have been my favorite of the visit. It was different because instead of being down in the canyon, we were up in the walls. We were probably one of the first people to hike the trail that day because Greg had to blaze the trail. But funnily enough, there was another group of people right behind us.

This area was protected by overhangs so it didn’t have any snow

One of my favorite things to see was tree branches covered in ice

We attempted to hike the Hidden Canyon trail but I think we took a wrong turn and ended up on the East Rim Trail. There were times we were trudging in snow; I know I was knee deep more than once. It was raining; I was cold, my pants were soaked from falling more than once (hello, I’m a klutz). We finally came across a pile of snow that didn’t look so safe to trudge through so we turned around.

Around sunset, when we were leaving, the sun finally started to come out

We had dinner at the Majestic View Lodge which offered a buffet and a table in their kitschy dining area. Our waitress was scary. There was a man at the next table eating alone. There were a lot of Asian people (see below). The gravy was extra hot (temp) compared to everything else which was lukewarm. It was very entertaining.

So, we have noticed this strange phenomenon in the Zion area. There are a TON of Asian people. I think we saw more Asian people than non-Asian people as we wandered around Zion and Springdale. Is there some tour book that gets handed out to Asian people telling them they should visit Zion? Seriously, it’s weird. The entire time in West Yellowstone, I saw one other Asian person. Hey, I’m glad people of all cultures are discovering Zion, it’s amazing, but it’s just an interesting tidbit we’ve observed.

Tired after driving the entire day but was well worth it. Will elaborate more tomorrow. Time for sleep.
